Rockingham County Public School Alumni Unite

Late 2011 a group of former high school mates from Rockingham County used annual social interaction, athletic exhibitions, and networking events to support college-ready students. During these networking and entertainment events, we used the profits to fund ten $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors from the four major Rockingham County High Schools. In 2014, we organized ourselves as a non-profit entity called the Rockingham County Champions for Education

In 2016, RCCE partnered with the Reidsville Area Foundation (www.raf.org), public schools and local mission-focused organizations to intentionally help create space for teachers and parents to interact, as well as exploring how creating community hubs for other programs and roundtable conversations, expecting a full range of positive outcomes.

Taking the learnings from our 2 year project, we created NC 100 to specifically focus on more programs and systemic work to achieve the following outcomes:

  • 100% of the Rockingham County Student Population will have the tools to explore great career options before 9th grade.
  • 100% of the Rockingham County School HS graduate community are college/career ready before age 21.
  • 100% of the Rockingham County Community has access to all resources available that support wealth creation.
